Protectthepowercord.Powersupplycordsshouldberoutedsothattheywon'tbewalkedonorpinched
byobjectsplacedonoragainstthem.Payparticularattentiontocordsatplugs,conveniencerecepta-
cles,andthepointwheretheyexitfromtheunit.
UnplugtheMonitorfromthewalloutletanddisconnecttheantennaorcablesystemduringalightning
stormorwhenleftunattendedandunusedforlongperiodsoftime.Thiswillpreventdamagetotheunit
duetolightningandpower-linesurges.
Avoidoverheadpowerlines.Anoutsideantennasystemshouldnotbeplacedinthevicinityofoverhead
powerlinesorotherelectriclightorpowercircuitsorwhereitcanfallintosuchpowerlinesorcircuits.
Wheninstallinganoutsideantennasystem,beextremelycarefultokeepfromtouchingthepowerlines
orcircuits.Contactwithsuchlinescanbefatal.
Donotoverloadthewalloutletorextensioncords.Overloadingcanresultinfireorelectricshock.
Donotinsertanythingthroughtheopeningsintheunit,wheretheycantouchdangerousvoltagepoints
ordamageparts.NeverspillliquidofanykindontheMonitor.
Groundoutdoorantennas.IfanoutsideantennaorcablesystemisconnectedtotheMonitor,besurethe
antennaorcablesystemisgroundedsoastoprovidesomeprotectionagainstvoltagesurgesandbuilt-
upstaticcharges.Section810oftheNationalElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPANo.70-1984,providesinfor-
mationaboutpropergroundingofthemastandsupportingstructure,groundingofthelead-inwiretoan
antennadischargeunit,sizeofgroundingconductors,locationofantennadischargeunit,connectionto
groundingelectrodes,andrequirementsforthegroundingelectrode.
DonotattempttoservicetheMonitoryourself.Referallservicingtoqualifiedservicepersonnel.Unplug
theunitfromthewalloutletandreferservicingtoqualifiedservicepersonnelunderthefollowingcondi-
tions:
whenthepower-supplycordorplugisdamaged
ifliquidhasbeenspilledontheunitorifobjectshavefallenintotheunit
iftheMonitorhasbeenexposedtorainorwater
iftheMonitordoesnotoperatenormallybyfollowingtheoperatinginstructions
iftheMonitorhasbeendroppedorthecabinethasbeendamaged
whentheMonitorexhibitsadistinctchangeinperformance
Ifyoumakea(Jjustmentsyourself,adjustonlythosecontrolsthatarecoveredbytheoperatinginstruc-
tions.Adjustingothercontrolsmayresultindamageandwilloftenrequireextensiveworkbyaqualified
techniciantorestoretheMonitortonormal.
Whenreplacementpartsarerequired,besuretheservicetechnicianusesreplacementpartsspecifiedby
themanufacturerorthosethathavethesamecharacteristicsastheoriginalpart.Unauthorizedsubstitu-
tionsmayresultinadditionaldamagetotheunit.
UponcompletionofanyserviceorrepairstothisMonitor,asktheservicetechniciantoperformsafety
checkstodeterminethattheMonitorisinasafeoperatingcondition.
ThePDPcanproperlyoperatewithinthetemperaturerangeof32--104Fandhumidity80%.
Donotuseinahotandhumidplace,withinthetemperaturerangeof
BeforemovingthePDPequippedwithspeakers,separatethespeakersfromthePDP.
IfyoumovethePDPholdingthespeakers,itmayresultinadetachmentofthePDPandcauseany
damagetothePDPandotherpersonalinjury.
